Pedra en Sec Route GR221

Estellencs is part of the ‘Ruta de Pedra en Sec’ GR221 that runs through the Serra de Tramuntana mountain range from north to south on the western side of Mallorca. The third section of this route starts in Estellencs and reaches Esporles. It has countless paths that cross agricultural areas, wild mediterranean landscapes and privileged enclaves where the native flora and fauna are an added attraction to the landscape.

Sa Coma d'en Vidal

On its way through Estellencs, the ‘Ruta de Pedra en Sec’, which links Andratx and Deià, arrives at the Sa Coma d’en Vidalhhostel, a public property that occupies 56 hectares and has a capacity for 24 people, in case you want to spend the night at this shelter. If you are interested you can book through ‘la Unidad de Refugios del Departamento de Medio Ambiente del Consell de Mallorca.’

Camí Reial

The Camino Real is another hiking option that leads to Cala Estellencs, the coastal area of the district, suitable for swimming, where the main attraction is a small pebble beach and a natural waterfall that occurs during the rainy season.

Son Fortuny

In the recreational area of Son Fortuny, also known as Ses Serveres, you can take a break to enjoy the scenery and get your strength back, as there are tables with benches. In this enclave you can visit an old reconstructed charcoal maker’s hut and the ‘Boal de ses Serveres’, a remote cowshed.

From this enclave there is an excursion to Es Morralàs, a crag located in the Serra des Pinotells.

Galatzó

One of the most popular routes for hiking enthusiasts is the one that leads to the Puig de Galatzó, located at an altitude of 1,026 metres, which offers spectacular views of the entire island.

During the ascent you will reach the Pas de na Sabatera, an obligatory stop to enjoy the landscape, and after crossing Galatzó you will reach Es Bisbe, a peak of 847 metres also known as ‘Agulla Forcada’. Forcada’.

Font des Quer
